What I saw on 17’466 websites

I keep checking the websites of Swiss small businesses. These five problems come up most often. All of them can be fixed quickly and affordably.

  1. Hard to reach

Phone number in small print in the footer, no call button, no online booking.

New: One tap is enough: call, start directions, book an appointment.

  2. No description on Google

The search result says “Home” or “Welcome to our homepage”.

New: Google shows what you offer and where, so the right people click.

  3. Legal notice or privacy policy missing

Mandatory information is missing. That is a legal risk and looks unprofessional.

New: Properly linked on every page, in line with Swiss data protection law.

  4. Content can’t be changed in-house

Every new opening time needs a specialist, so nothing ever changes.

New: You change it yourself in the CMS, or I do it as part of the plan.

  5. Slow on phones

Huge images and outdated building blocks: on a phone it takes seconds.

New: There in under 2 seconds. People who don’t have to wait, stay.

What a new website does for you

  • Get found

Clean titles, descriptions and a linked Google profile. People searching in your area end up with you.

  • Get called

  • Be taken seriously

An up-to-date website says: this business is here and cares. That counts for the first impression.

  • Less effort

You change texts and images yourself in the CMS, or send me an email. No more “well, it’s a bit outdated”.

How it works

  1. Short call

15 minutes on the phone, free of charge. You talk, I listen and give you the fixed price.

  2. Draft in 5 days

You see your new home page, clickable on phone and computer. Change requests included.

  3. Build

I build all the pages, carry over texts and images and cleanly redirect the old address.

  4. Online

The site goes live. You get a short introduction to the CMS, or the plan takes care of it.

Kajetan Som at his laptop, with a cat on his lap
that’s me, Kajetan Som

Hello, I’m Kajetan.

I studied visual communication in Basel and have been building websites for 13 years, for businesses all over Switzerland.

Design and technology come from one pair of hands: I design your site and program it myself.

I work alone. So you always talk to the person who actually builds your site. No project managers, no ticket numbers, no surprises on the invoice.

To be quick and affordable, I check websites automatically and know the most common problems. So I don’t start from scratch, and you don’t pay for trial and error.

I care that your site doesn’t fall asleep again after going live. That’s why there is the CMS and the plan.

Frequently asked questions

Why so affordable?

I work alone, without agency overhead, and build on proven building blocks. You pay for your website, not for meetings.

Is it really a fixed price?

Yes. After our call you get a price within the range. What the quote says is included in the price. No extra charges.

What does “unlimited” mean for maintenance?

All text and image changes on existing pages, as often as you like: new opening hours, a swapped photo, an updated offer. New pages, new features or a new design are not included; I quote those separately at a fixed price.

Do I have to take a plan?

No. The plan is optional and can be cancelled every year. Without a plan you can host the site yourself or order changes one at a time.

Can I edit the website myself?

With the “self-managed” package, yes, in the CMS. You get a short introduction. If you’d rather not, with the maintenance plan you simply email me the new texts or images.

Who owns the website?

You do. Texts, images and domain belong to you, even if you cancel the plan. I then hand over all the data.

Where is the website hosted?

On my own server in Europe (data centre in Germany), with SSL, daily backups and monitoring.

How do you know my website?

I automatically check publicly accessible websites of Swiss businesses: design and structure, phone-friendliness, speed, Google presence and mandatory information such as a legal notice and privacy policy. When I write to you, I have also looked at your site myself, with a designer’s eye.

Let’s talk for 15 minutes.

Free and without obligation. Afterwards you get a fixed price and can decide in your own time.

Or drop me a line

I’ll get back to you within one working day. I only use your details to reply.
